Birthday Celebrations!

Tyler and I celebrated our birthdays together over the weekend - his a week late & mine a week early! We went to Tony Packo's (made famous on M*A*S*H by Jamie Farr) and had cake at Mom & Dad's. You'll notice that I needed a fire extinguisher to put out the flames & subsequent smoke (M & D - why didn't your smoke alarm go off??). Not sure why Ty didn't have candles on his cake too?! T, L & C - we missed you guys! We're looking forward to a Leo Birthday Bash in August!

(I'm into my 27th week in these pictures).

Little Peanut Likes Dad's Singing!

Last night, Matt sang Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star to Peanut and the baby was SO excited! Dad finally felt the baby kick, several times in a row. Peanut must recognize Dad's voice now!

A Scathing Rant...Then I'm Over It.

So, I'm not really sure what it is about pregnancy that makes people think they are free to give tons of UNsolicited advice...about weight gain, what to eat during which month, what (not) to put on your registry, what doctor to go to, etc.

Here's some TMI for everyone: my uterus now extends 2 inches above my navel and is the size of a SOCCER BALL! Guess what? I'm supposed to look like this! And, I don't really care that your daughter is due a week after me and she's not NEARLY as BIG as I am!

I think it would be really cool if we could all focus on how awesome it is to be growing a baby and appreciate that everyone is different and everyone's experience with pregnancy is different. And, if you can't think of something nice to say, just don't make unwanted comments. It literally SUCKS the fun out of having a baby.

Here's some questions that I would appreciate being asked, as opposed to getting unsolicited advice:
What is the best part about being pregnant?
How often do you feel the baby move/kick?
How big is the baby now?
What week of pregnancy are you in? What is happening, in terms of development, at this week?
Do you need help with anything?
How are you sleeping?
How is your research going for your registry? What resources are you utilizing?

Yours Truly,
The most hormonal pregnant woman you never want to deal with if you make one more unsolicited comment. Seriously.

The Easter Bunny is eeeeeeeeeVIL!

We had a doctor's appointment this afternoon and I decided that I'm going to go ahead and STOP asking how much weight I've gained! Apparently, all that Easter candy (Cadbury eggs, specifically) added up to a whopping EIGHT pounds in four weeks!! (Also, this will be the last time I update the blog with the amount of weight I have gained.) YIKES! Good thing spring is around the corner...I need to do some serious walking!

The good news: little Peanut is doing great - heartbeat is strong! We have another appointment at the beginning of May.

April 1 April Fool's Day

BUY STOCK IN CITRUS! No foolin'!

I've been eating a grapefruit a day! I've also been eating a Cadbury egg a day, but we don't have to go there!

We have another doctor's appointment tomorrow. I'll keep you posted on little Peanut's progress! Until then, let me know your best April Fool's prank!

March 28 Sweet Sixteen

Matt was SUPER excited to have an all-access pass to the Sweet Sixteen. He acted as band liaison during the games on Friday night. He hopes his experience will land him a spot helping with the Final Four in Detroit next year.
I don't know how you are doing with your brackets, but Matt is tied with his dad in the office pool!

March 27 Lunch with Liz

Mom & I were able to meet up with Liz while she was on her Spring Break in Cleveland. Where would a likely place to meet be? Why, in Norwalk, Ohio, of course! We ate at Berry's in downtown Norwalk where, while the waitress didn't necessarily endorse the food, she was on top of refilling our drinks & did take these pictures for us. (Grandma, I know these aren't the "ski slope" photos you were hoping for - I'll have to pose for the camera again soon).

March 23 Easter with the Uday's

Here we are on Easter Sunday, celebrating with the Udays! (l-r top - Vicki, Bud, John, Dan, Jake, Matt; l-r bottom - June, Greta, Juanita, Jan & Megan)

March 21 - 22 Bathroom Remodel Complete!

A BIG thank you to Dad for coming up 2 weekends to help us prep, paint, and finish the master bathroom in our condo! What a HUGE improvement! I think it looks great! Thank you to you, Dad, and Matt for your hard work! It makes a certain pregnant lady VERY happy!

March 13 - 17 Matt Skied Tahoe, I Vacationed in Toledo

Matt had a blast skiing with Fred & Diana out in Tahoe. He'll have to add more details about the trip. It looks like Lady (Fred & Diana's dog) had fun in all that fresh powder as well!

I headed to Toledo for some R & R with the 'rents (it's been 5 years since I spent the night at their house!). Thanks for your hospitality Mom and Dad! I think they were frightened at the frequency of my meals! And, maybe the amount of food as well...it was hard to tell!

March 8 - Lunch with the Girls!

We loved seeing Jen back in Michigan (if only for a short while!). Kat, Kate, Kendall, Megan, Meghann & Jen (l-r, with Jen in foreground).
